A Day In NYC With Mom

February 25, 2009 - One Response

Today my mom and I headed out the door early this morning. We had an exciting day! I took her to the Top Of The Rock and it was breath taking even for me! I realized how lucky I am to be living in this amazing city. We also had dinner at some cool Japanese place in St. Marks. Here are some pics we took today-

Happy Hour With Michael Kors

February 22, 2009 - Leave a Response

You know how I told you about when I met Nina Garcia? Well today I met in person none other than Michael Kors! It was kinda funny how it happened too.

Me and my friend went to happy hour at some bar in Chelsea and while my friend was in the bathroom, some guy came to the bar where I was sitting and asked the bartender for more ice. I looked to my left and saw this guy who looked very familiar. We stared at eachother for about 4 seconds I believe. It was kind of akward because we stared at eachother without saying a word, so I finally just said “hey” with a smile. By then, I still hadn’t figured out who he was. When he left the bar and went back to his table, I started to tell the bartender “He looks like…” when the bartender nodded his head and moved his lips saying ”Michael Kors”.

Nina Garcia, now Michael Kors. Two down, one to go! Heidi Klum- I wonder where will I get to meet you!?

Am I Dreaming All This?

February 9, 2009 - 2 Responses

I haven’t posted in a while, I know, and I’m sorry for that! Lately I have been so busy, plus I had no Internet at my place, which got me very stressed because I go crazy without it.

As some of you may know, I have been doing some apartment hunting lately. I’ve been going to several places to look at and none of them were for me. It seemed as if I was never going to find the perfect place for me. Random situations happened throughout my search that made me more aware of things. I don’t know how to explain it, but I learned a few things from this experience.

I have said this before and I will say it again- EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. Things that don’t work out like you wanted them to might upset you, but remember that it probably wasn’t meant to be. I now know that more than ever.

Tonight I find myself sitting here typing in this blog, listening to some music with Rocky sleeping right next to me, in my OWN fucking New York City apartment. Yeap, I found the right one!

I am proud of myself. After four months from arriving to NYC, I now have my very own place. A pretty damn good one too. I consider myself lucky.

Momma must be so proud :)

A Question For Ya..

January 30, 2009 - One Response

I was thinking about the shitty economy that we are experiencing now and it got me thinking…

Can an Immigration Reform substantially help the economy?

Think about it. If millions of the Illegal immigrants become legalized, they are going to be able to:

  • Buy houses. That would help the current housing crisis.
  • Buy cars. Which would help the declining car industry.
  • Travel. Being legalized, many will travel to their homeland to visit family that they haven’t seen in years. Imagine millions buying airline tickets. That would certainly help the airline industry.
  • Pay taxes. Besides the many undocumented people that already pay taxes, many more would be forced to pay taxes as they are now legal residents of this country.
  • Open small businesses. People being legalized would want to open their own small businesses, meaning  job creation.
  • Go to College. Many would be able to attend college and therefore more money into the educational system.

Those are just the points that come from the top of my head. I truly believe that an Immigration reform that would legalize the millions of people would help the economy. Maybe that is what the country needs. Maybe the failure of Bush’s administration on this issue contributed to the shitty economy.

Anyway, that was just a thought. What do you think?

Focus, Be Tough & Bring it

January 21, 2009 - Leave a Response

Ok, so I always see these ads on the subway like the “FOCUS” one I bloged about recently. Others like it I’ve seen say: “Bring it”, “Be Tough” and “Shine on”. I was curious why these signs were all over New York, because they didn’t seem to be advertising anything. I did some research and it turns out they were Gatorade ads. How the heck are people supose to guess these ads are for a fucking drink? That is bad advertising!

For a second there I thought someone of a greater power was trying to tell me something.. Haha. I still need to focus, though. :)

Methapors are always fun! Aren’t they?

Here are some political cartoons involving the recent Airways plane landing on the Hudson and the crappy economy we are experiencing. The thing I like about political cartoons is that they are funny, yet so true. Check them out!

Grade President Bush

January 14, 2009 - One Response

This is silly. You can grade President Bush on MSNBC.com!  He obviously deserves an F! So glad his days as President are almost over. I hope Hillary Clinton Obama does a much better job. The economy is going down like a whore on a guy paying $20 for a bj.

So, visit MSNBC.com and grade that fucker. Oh, and who would give him an A??? They are probably retarded like Bush.

Waiting For Love

January 14, 2009 - Leave a Response

You may know by now that I’m a big hopeless romantic, and that I always have tried to find that special guy to date and stuff. Well, I am kind of an impatient person and I want to find that guy now! I am like Charlotte from Sex and the City where she says something like: “I’m exhausted! Where is he?”.

But, a wise lesbo once told me…

Por qué busca? cosas buenas vienen a los que esperan. Si usted busca algo usted siempre encuentra que las cosas equivocadas y acaba por decepcionado. No lo fuerce. Permítale justo suceder. xo

Spanish is not her strong suit but you understand what she’s trying to say. Deep inside I know that might be true but I’m just curious as to when the fucker is going to come my way. I guess I will just have to wait and see.

Focus Alex

I’m walking through the streets of Manhattan, deep in thought, not concentrating in my sorroundings, when suddenly I notice a sign that said “FOCUS”.

Talk about signs.
