I was thinking about the shitty economy that we are experiencing now and it got me thinking…
Can an Immigration Reform substantially help the economy?
Think about it. If millions of the Illegal immigrants become legalized, they are going to be able to:
- Buy houses. That would help the current housing crisis.
- Buy cars. Which would help the declining car industry.
- Travel. Being legalized, many will travel to their homeland to visit family that they haven’t seen in years. Imagine millions buying airline tickets. That would certainly help the airline industry.
- Pay taxes. Besides the many undocumented people that already pay taxes, many more would be forced to pay taxes as they are now legal residents of this country.
- Open small businesses. People being legalized would want to open their own small businesses, meaning job creation.
- Go to College. Many would be able to attend college and therefore more money into the educational system.
Those are just the points that come from the top of my head. I truly believe that an Immigration reform that would legalize the millions of people would help the economy. Maybe that is what the country needs. Maybe the failure of Bush’s administration on this issue contributed to the shitty economy.
Anyway, that was just a thought. What do you think?

These political cartoons get funnier and funnier! Check this ones out, and if you’re into them, check this site out for more!

Ok, so I always see these ads on the subway like the “FOCUS” one I bloged about recently. Others like it I’ve seen say: “Bring it”, “Be Tough” and “Shine on”. I was curious why these signs were all over New York, because they didn’t seem to be advertising anything. I did some research and it turns out they were Gatorade ads. How the heck are people supose to guess these ads are for a fucking drink? That is bad advertising!
For a second there I thought someone of a greater power was trying to tell me something.. Haha. I still need to focus, though.

Methapors are always fun! Aren’t they?
Here are some political cartoons involving the recent Airways plane landing on the Hudson and the crappy economy we are experiencing. The thing I like about political cartoons is that they are funny, yet so true. Check them out!

This is silly. You can grade President Bush on MSNBC.com! He obviously deserves an F! So glad his days as President are almost over. I hope Hillary Clinton Obama does a much better job. The economy is going down like a whore on a guy paying $20 for a bj.
So, visit MSNBC.com and grade that fucker. Oh, and who would give him an A??? They are probably retarded like Bush.

You may know by now that I’m a big hopeless romantic, and that I always have tried to find that special guy to date and stuff. Well, I am kind of an impatient person and I want to find that guy now! I am like Charlotte from Sex and the City where she says something like: “I’m exhausted! Where is he?”.
But, a wise lesbo once told me…
Por qué busca? cosas buenas vienen a los que esperan. Si usted busca algo usted siempre encuentra que las cosas equivocadas y acaba por decepcionado. No lo fuerce. Permítale justo suceder. xo
Spanish is not her strong suit but you understand what she’s trying to say. Deep inside I know that might be true but I’m just curious as to when the fucker is going to come my way. I guess I will just have to wait and see.

I’m walking through the streets of Manhattan, deep in thought, not concentrating in my sorroundings, when suddenly I notice a sign that said “FOCUS”.
Talk about signs.

My friend took this pic on New Year’s. It perfectly describes our night. You can see the new year horns sitting on the table, two almost empty drinks, and even a spilled drink. What a drunk night it was!

Recently I felt as if I lost one of my close friends. We had a great relationship. We had fun together, we laughed, we joked around. I cared for this person like a friend I never had before.
Unfortunately though, something unknown to me happened and apparently now we are no longer close. I have no idea what happened. I was always a caring friend, wanting nothing more than happiness for this person that I thought was my best friend.
You know who you are. I dedicate this song to you. To our friendship.
You took my hand
You showed me how
You promised me you’d be around
Uh huh
That’s right
I took your words
And I believed
In everything
You said to me
Yeah huh
That’s right
If someone said three years from now
You’d be long gone
I’d stand up and punch them out
Cause they’re all wrong
I know better
Cause you said forever
And ever
Who knew
Remember when we were such fools
And so convinced and just too cool
Oh no
No no
I wish I could touch you again
I wish I could still call you friend
I’d give anything
When someone said count your blessings now
‘fore they’re long gone
I guess I just didn’t know how
I was all wrong
They knew better
Still you said forever
And ever
Who knew
Yeah yeah
I’ll keep you locked in my head
Until we meet again
Until we
Until we meet again
And I won’t forget you my friend
What happened
If someone said three years from now
You’d be long gone
I’d stand up and punch them out
Cause they’re all wrong and
That last kiss
I’ll cherish
Until we meet again
And time makes
It harder
I wish I could remember
But I keep
Your memory
You visit me in my sleep
My darling
Who knew
My darling
My darling
Who knew
My darling
I miss you
My darling
Who knew
Who knew

OK, soooo… I always wanted to be in Times Square for the countdown, and this being my first time in New York in new year’s I decided to go down to Times Square on Wednesday afternoon and stand there for hours till 12. I was so excited that finally I was going to experience it, among all of the people that were already there taking their place in the middle of Times Square and around, shivering to the freezing temperatures, and seeing snow fall on their cold faces.
Sadly, the weather didn’t permit me stay there more than an hour, so I decided to take off, get warm, and get some pizza. It was very cold and it was snowing hard at times. The weather was just not helping the cause. A lot of people also decided to rain-check on the whole new year’s on Times Square deal. It was just too cold. I don’t know how people stood there for hours without converting into ice sculptures. I had a good spot too, right on the middle of it all.
Maybe next time the weather is not going to be as crappy, and this time I know to really pack on those extra layers of clothing to keep me warm. Also, I hope I will actually have someone to kiss on fucking new year’s!
I rang in the new year at some bar in Hell’s Kitchen, drunk as usual. Went home kinda early. I wasn’t feeling it. 2008 was something else. Hopefully 2009 will be rocking.
Anyway, Happy New Year’s bitches!
