Be Free To Be YOU

Be free to be gay.

Be free to show your love.

Fuck who ever has a problem with that.

Last time when I was in New York, I had a few opportunities to see two guys holding hands, and that was just great. I am glad that at least in some part of the world, guys are not afraid to show some public display of affection. Too bad that here in the Midwest you don’t see that at all.

Well, maybe once a year, in a complete gay environment… in St. Louis pride! Gay pride that is. It will be held June 28th, and I am thinking of taking Rocky with me. I am sure he’ll score me some hot guys! We’ll see.

  1. I don’t really know where I stand on public displays of affection. I guess I tend to flip flop on certain situations.
Hand holding is fine and quick goodbye or hello kisses are fine for both straight and gay couples. However, I don’t prefer to see making out and groping from anyone, straight or gay. The purpose of public affection is to let the other person know you are happy that he/she is there with you. Deep tonguing, etc. is best saved for the bedroom, not in a park or a bar.

I will not be attending the Pride parade this year. I have to go home for my parents anniversary. However, even if I was going to be in town, I think I would be skipping it anyway. In past years I have gone to the parade and then walked around the park. However, I feel it has become a time for people to show off how great their bodies are and how good looking their current buddy is and I have come home feeling rotten and horrible and with very little personal pride in myself. It bothers me that I let others get to me in that way, but I can’t change the fact that it does. This year I plan to go early on Saturday and look around at the different booths and then leave it at that. I will then travel home the next day with the personal pride that the Tower Grove Park Pride has not taken away from me this year. It is true that it can take a long time to build up one’s self-esteem, and minutes to knock it down. I am not going to let that happen this year.

Sorry if I got off topic. I tend to do that on occasion.
